Homework

Homework refers to any work or activities undertaken by pupils outside of lesson time, either on their own or with support of parents and carers.

Speech & Language Unit

  • Children are encouraged to read everyday at home and order a sentence into the correct sequence.
  • Spellings are sent home on Wednesdays for a test the following Wednesday.
  • Children will have language programmes to be carried out at home as direct by SALT.
  • Weekend news is to be completed and returned by Monday with a picture and written description of their weekend news.

Reception

  • Children are encouraged to read everyday.
  • Homework is given out on Wednesdays to be returned on the following Monday. September - March handwriting/letters and sounds. March - July handwriting/letters and sounds and numeracy.

Year 1 & 2

  • Children are encouraged to read everyday.
  • Learn it's and letters and sounds spellings are given out on a Monday to be tested on Friday.
  • Alternating weeks of literacy/curriculum and numeracy given out on Wednesdays and to be returned by the following Wednesday.

Year 3 & 4

  • Children are encouraged to read everyday.
  • Spellings/sentences given out on Thursdays to be returned by the follwing Wednesday.
  • Learn it's are given out on Fridays to be tested the following Friday.

Year 5 & 6

  • Children are encouraged to read everyday.
  • Spellings/sentences given out on Fridays to be returned by the following Wednesday.
  • Literacy activity given out on Fridays to be returned by the following Wednesday.
  • Numeracy given out on Fridays and to be returned by the following Wednesday.
  • Reading Journals are checked weekly by the teacher
