Music is taught through the Charanga Musical Schools Scheme where the children have the opportunity to learn about different genres of music and different musical forms. They have the opportunity to develop their instrumental and vocal skills as well as developing their ability to compose their own music. The children all have opportunities to sing and perform through annual Christmas, Easter and Leavers’ Plays, as well as Collective Worship and class assemblies. Each year, one year group has access to the wider opportunities musical education through the use of clarinets, djembes, samba orchestra, recorders or junk band, with a combination of 2 different instrumental skills being taught in one year. Years 2 to 6 also have the opportunity to develop their musical skills further by accessing individual or small group instrumental tuition from Lincolnshire music services. This tuition is paid for by parents.
